The Story Behind The Girl With The Camera

Hello everyone, how are you? Me, I am doing fantastic! I am really doing amazing knowing that it has finally made a year that I got back into photography. Let me start off by giving you a short summary about myself. My name is Alexis Loftin, I was born and raised in South Louisiana, and I am 25 years old. I was born in Houma, raised in Belle River, and now making a life in Labadieville. Just a few facts about myself, I have no pets at the time, but I would love a dog. I just don’t have the time to give a dog all my love. I have no children now, but I pray God makes me a mother one day. I am attending college now for education and hoping to become a teacher one day. I have an amazing boyfriend, family, and great friends who support me in every way. OH, and one more thing I love to wear hats, I am that girl!

For those of you who know me, you know my story. But for those of you who don’t, I will let you in on a few details. I started photography back around 2010 and the name of my photography business was called “Alexis Loftin’s Photography”. I had my photography business for about 4 years and then one day I gave it all up. I am still disappointed in myself for giving up so easily. The problem at the time when I had my business was that I started to young. I was still in high school, working two jobs, and trying to have a full-time photography business. I was trying to live two lives but unfortunately you can’t do that when you are trying to find yourself and trying to run a business. I was young and stupid, I hurt people in my business, and I hurt my loved ones. I thought giving up was the best way. Not proud of my past or what I had done to my business! I am being honest with you because I am wanting your trust and I am wanting you to BELIEVE IN ME! January 2020 made a year that I started back into photography.

Before I say anymore please notice I did change my business name from “Alexis Loftin’s Photography” to “Believe in Yourself Photography”. Since I started fresh, I felt like a new name was perfect! For those who know me well you know that the words “Believe in Yourself” is my life moto, and a part of my nanny that keeps her alive. For the past three years of not having photography in my life I thought I was okay. Truthfully, I was lost because photography isn’t just a camera to me, photography is a part of me. This time I am not going to try to do photography full-time, I am going to do photography part-time (more like a hobby). I am now an outdoor photographer taking portraits of seniors, family, children, engagements, pre-bridals, maternity, and newborns. The only time I will take indoor photos will be for newborn’s, small weddings, or events like parties. I am now taking small weddings, the ones I can take with just one photographer now.

Everyone fails at things in life, unfortunately that is part of our journey here on Earth. I had to learn the hard way but at the same time I had to find myself and had to grow before I started this chapter. I am not asking for anyone to feel sorry for me, all I ask is for you to trust in me this time. For those who believed in me before, believed in me when I failed, and still believe in me now I want to say thank you. I never forgot about those who believed in me and to be honest you are the real heroes in this story. Well I told you my story and I told you this new chapter I am opening, and I hope to see you in it. I am going in big this time and there is no turning back!

XOXO, Alexis Loftin (Believe in Yourself Photography)
